Fix An Appliance That Has Too Many IP Addresses | How To


The following article describes how to resolve the pop-up error in the Alert Logic user interface when you have too many IP addresses monitored by an appliance.


  1. Attach a Monitoring Policy to the appliance that explicitly specifies a few CIDRs that cover your network (rather than having the back-end compose the home network out of every separate agent IP in the assignment policy).

  2. Deploy more appliances and/or split their assignment policies, so that fewer hosts are assigned to each appliance. 

    Note: It does not suffice to add an appliance to an existing assignment policy, because homenet is determined per assignment policy, not per appliance.

  3. Clean up any offline/dead agents still attached to the appliance by deleting PHost source.
