For an external scan, we perform a TCP ping and check TCP ports 21, 22, 23, 25, 53, 80, 111, 135, 139, 259, 443, 445, 465, 900, 993, 995, 3389, and 8081. If none of these ports are open, the scan will return a "0 hosts found" result. The PCI-external scan will evaluate a host without regards to whether it is available to Alert Logic scanners.
