On a Linux host, the out of memory (OOM) will kill a process or sacrifice a child process. It will run down that path until it has killed everything, ultimately killing the agent.
On a Windows host, the agent will respond similarly and will ultimately freeze the box.
In either case, the customer is expected to monitor their environment. There is functionality within the Alert Logic® console to notify when an agent stops responding, but it is up to the customer to configure.
