  As an IT professional, i find this to be a very challenging task.  We have so many demands on our time, it is difficult to stay up to date on all of the new developments.  I try to stay up to date by making sure I am involved with projects that use new technologies.  This gives me a good business reason to learn and use newer technologies.  I also take advantage of local training sessions and I am a member of several newsfeeds and groups.
