There is an arbitrary file upload vulnerability in the WordPress theme DesignFolio+ 1.2. The vulnerability exists due to the upload-file.php script making no attempt to check authorization or upload filetype and allowing an upload_path parameter to accept directory traversal characters. The exploit does require that the user knows the computed md5 hash of the internal IP of the server. The plugin is currently unsupported.
Exploitation
Stages
- The attacker sends an upload request to a vulnerable WordPress instance containing an arbitrary file.
- The server responds with a ‘200’ response code and ‘success’.
- The attacker requests the uploaded file from the directory.
Prerequisites
The attacker must be able to send crafted packets to the target system. The exploit does require that the user knows the computed MD5 hash of the internal IP of the server.
