There exists an arbitrary file upload vulnerability in the WordPress plugin SupportCandy <= 2.0. The vulnerability exists due to the upload_file_rb.php script making no attempt to check authorization or the upload file type. The exploit does require that an upload directory has already been created via the upload_file.php script through legitimate usage.
Exploitation
Stages
- An attacker sends an upload request containing an arbitrary file to a vulnerable WordPress instance.
- The server responds with a ‘200’ response code and echoes the name of the upload directory.
- The attacker requests the uploaded file from the directory (it will be executed if PHP).
Prerequisites
The attacker must be able to send crafted packets to the target system.
