Scan Credentials and Inheritance
Let's say I have several Windows instances AND Linux instances in a given subnet. Therefore, Windows instances would need 'Windows' credentials and the Linux ones would need 'SSH' credentials. Can I set these credentials at the subnet level? If I do, will it be smart enought to know that the Windows credentials need to be used for the Windows hosts, and the SSH credentials need to be used for the Linux ones?
Kind regards,
Andrew

Thanks Abby! Yeah we're mainly wondering if we can configure all the creds at the subnet level without having to do so for every single instance. But at the same time, if we do it that way, we don't want AL to try using SSH (or SSH username + key) creds for Windows for example, or Windows creds for Linux machines. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Andrew
Sorry for the delay - the answer is yes - you should be able to configure your creds at the subnet level. SSH creds will be applied to the linux server, and windows creds only for your windows machines. You can get these keys in either using the API, or using our GUI. In the GUI - here is the key screenshot - find the subnet in the Topology view, click on the Key icon at the top right, and then you can enter your windows and SSH credentials.
If you prefer doing it via API - then here is your reference to start from:
Some more explanation on how the credential provisioning work can be found on this entry:
Hope this helps

Hi Guy,
Thank you for the assistance, we will go ahead and configure all the creds at the subnet level then.
Kind regards,
Andrew
