Resolve an Invalid Manifest File (SHA256) Error When Deploying the Virtual Appliance

This article describes steps to take if you receive the following error when deploying the virtual appliance for Alert Logic®.

This error occurs if you have an older version of vSphere or ESXi that does not support the version of the OVF/OVA template used by the Alert Logic virtual appliance.

Solution

1. Sign in to the Alert Logic console.
   
   
2. Download the previous version of our appliance from the following location: https://scc.alertlogic.net/software/threat-virtual-appliance/threat-virtual-appliance_LATEST-SHA1.ova
   
   
3. Deploy the virtual appliance using the version downloaded in step 2.

The appliance will automatically update to the latest version during the first boot.
