Alert Logic Managed Detection & Response (MDR) and Cloud Defender customers now have access to enhanced report options for the self-service PCI ASV scanning capabilities in Fortra VM. In addition to the required PCI Compliance reports, you can now create vulnerability reports from the following report templates with your preferred rating method:
- Executive Summary
- Vulnerabilities Executive Summary
- Vulnerability Details
New Report Options for Build Reports Feature
You can generate reports by selecting a new template using the Build Report feature for a specific scan.
- Navigate to > Configure > Fortra VM PCI Scanning.
- Select Scan Activity from the SCANS menu.
- Select a scan in the list and click the Build Report button.
- Select a report template from the drop-down, such as Vulnerability Details.
The new report templates use the default PCI rating method set for your account.

You can choose the method that applies to rating assets and/or vulnerabilities within the report using the following process:
- Click the More options button.
- Under Advanced Options, select Rating Method from the drop-down, such as PCI, DDI or NVD.
- Click the Save button to generate the report.
New Auto-Generate Report Templates for a Scan Group
From a new or existing scan group, you can auto-generate reports based on the new templates upon scan completion.
You can access the Scan Group page in Fortra VM.
- Navigate to > Configure > Fortra VM PCI Scanning.
- Click New scan group or click the name of an existing scan group.
- Under Report Options, toggle Auto-generate Reports and Use Custom Reports List to the ON position.
- Select a report from the drop-down, such as Vulnerability Details, and add the report to the list of Reports to generate.
The new report templates use the default rating method set for your account. You can adjust the default rating scheme for all auto-generated reports by updating the scan settings for your account.
- Select Settings from the SCAN SETTINGS menu.
- Under the Risks and Threat Prioritization, select a Default rating scheme from the drop-down.
